So here we go. First post on the blog. The post that sets the tone for the WHOLE blog. No pressure.
I married my best friend and the love of my life (same person, I’m lucky right?!) two shorts weeks ago, so life is starting to get back to normal.
We had a wonderfully relaxing honeymoon where we blissfully woke up in the mountains of North Carolina, had brunch together at a different place each day, went exploring little shops and nature’s wonders (If you’ve never been to the top of Grandfather Mountain and walked across the swinging/singing bridge, you should Bucket List that. right now.) and then slipped into a bubbling hot tub in the evenings to melt away any bit of stress we might have brought with us.
It was perfect.
Fast forward to us coming home…
We get home and reality sets back in. We have a house FULL of wedding decor, leftover food, gifts…stress. It was a mess and a half! Now I’m not going to complain too much because we have the most amazing friends and family who helped us more than I ever thought ANYONE would. We had lots of helping hands wedding prepping, setting up, tearing down, transporting, cleaning, unpacking, repacking, etc. We would have been lost without them ❤ So we whipped the house back into shape over the span of a couple days (it’s still not perfect but it’s MUCH better) and rested on the Sabbath, just the way God intended it to be!
Monday it was back to work, back to normalcy but with a different last name and a smile on my face that won’t wipe off. 🙂
Yes, I think marriage agrees with me, and I plan on doing everything in my power to be the best wife I can be to my wonderful husband, and I will continue to pray every day for what we can’t control.
So I started my 4th Advocare 24 Day Challenge today. *Sound the trumpets*
What is Advocare you say?? Well friends, let me tell you.
Advocare is an elite nutrition company that has been around for 20+ years, serving the fitness and nutrition needs for everyday people like you and I, all the way up to pro-athletes like Drew Brees (yes, Drew loves him some Advocare! 😉 ), Trevor Bayne, Jason Witten, Rich Froning (just to drop a few names haha). Advocare is backed by Informed Choice (which means there are no yucky chemicals in the products and nothing that will make you fail a drug test or even remotely resemble steroids) and it is also backed by a Sci-Med Board. Advocare products are simply the best supplements you can treat your body to and there is a product line to meet every need: weight loss, muscle toning/building, active lifestyle, and general wellness.
It’s the bees knees!
I’m going to get real honest: I’ve struggled with my weight and the unhappiness that comes from it for a long time and NOTHING worked before Advocare. You get what you put in and when you’re putting good food and great supplements IN your body, you’re going to get OUT more energy and less junk.
I’m stepping off my Advo-soapbox but I will keep the blog updated with my Advocare journey.
So I am the extremely proud mother of a smart, beautiful, funny, silly 16-month-old girl (not that I am bias 😉 ), who is growing up WAY too fast for my liking! Seriously, we brought her home from the hospital, blinked, and she was walking. We’ll call her “Baby Girl” from here on out, just because I am leery of putting too much information about my child on the internet for anyone and everyone to see. Nope. Not happening.
sooo…Crunchy? why crunchy? What is “crunchy”?
Crunchy is just a little term that was coined for parents who do things a little different (or a lot different) than what today’s society views as “normal”. Examples: Natural birth, cloth diapering, breastfeeding in public, co-sleeping, attachment parenting, not vaccinating, baby-wearing, etc. Now you might be thinking, “Natural birth? cloth diapering? Those aren’t new ways of thinking! That’s how we were born and raised and how our parents were born and raised…” and so on. And you would be right. So why has our society fallen victim to modern medicine and modern ways of viewing birth and parenting?? I couldn’t tell you (in a nice way) why exactly that came to happen. All I know is that I prefer the back-to-basics method of parenting personally. Call me weird, call me crunchy, call me whatever you want. That’s just the way it is. 😉 And hey, if you have questions or comments (only nice ones please), leave me something in the comments section of the blog 🙂
So…how did I do? Think you’ll returning for the next post? I hope so! Until then,
Follow your bliss.
Happy Wife.Fit Girl.Crunchy Mom.
